Calendar of events 2007

Meetings are at 10 am on the 2nd Saturday of the month unless otherwise noted.  Meeting location will vary depending on activity.  Please email wildonesmo@yahoo.com or call Celeste Mazzacano at 239-4627 for details.
 


Jan. 20 - Brunch potluck plus “ask the experts” roundtable.  Get to know your fellow Wild Ones better over good food and come prepared to ask those vexing questions about your plantings that have haunted you all winter!  We will meet for brunch at 10:00 am, please bring a dish to share. (Please note that this meeting will be held on the 3rd Saturday of the month, to accommodate those attending the GrowNative native plant workshop in Springfield MO on Saturday Jan. 13). 
Directions to Mazzacano residence at 322 Anderson Ave:  Anderson runs north/south from Worley to Broadway, and lies between Garth and West Blvds.  From downtown, take Broadway west; Anderson will be a left turn several streets past Garth (there is a big sign for the Christian Science Church on the left, and the Montessori School on the right).  Take Anderson north past Ash; house is on the right, just a few houses before  Worley, white with a blue porch.

Feb. 10 - Plant propagation/landscape design workshop by Ann Wakeman.  Held at Columbia Public library in conference room A. 
Directions:  Library is at the corner of Broadway and Garth.  Free parking available in lot. 

Mar 10 - New planting at Habitat for Humanity Norbury Hills site. 
Directions:  TBA

April 14
  – Grass planting at Epple Field site; maintenance on Monk Hill planting.  Bring gloves, shovels, clippers, etc. 
Directions:  Meet at MU Epple Field site at 10 am.  From Broadway and Providence, go south on Providence past Stadium Blvd.  At the first stop light south of Stadium, make a right hand turn and then go left.  After crossing a small bridge, enter the parking lot by the MU Tennis Center.  

April 22 (Sunday) - Earth Day festival in downtown Columbia.  Come visit our booth.  Wildlfowers and native plants will be available for purchase. Volunteers to help staff the booth are need.  

May 12 -  Weed and thin plants at Forum Nature Area site.  Meet in the parking area at 10 am.  Bring gloves, shovels, clippers, and pots if you want to take home transplants.

June 9-  Wild One’s yard tour- tours of members’ yards.  Locations TBA.

July 14-  Wild One’s yard tours, continuedLocation TBA.

August 11 – joint meeting with St. Louis Wild Ones in Columbia.  Location TBA.

Sept. 9 - New planting at Crossings site.  Location TBA.
 
Oct. 13-  - Honeysuckle and euonymous eradication with the Green Belt Coalition.  Location TBA.

Nov. 10 -  Planning meeting for 2007.  Bring your comments, ideas, and suggestions for 2007 activities. 
 
Dec. - No meeting - holiday break
